Untitled #115. Japanese Cedar, dimensions variable.
Made from Aomori Hiba, a cedar particular to the north of Japan, this installation was built by stacking the units one on top of the other, slowly edging the units inwards, to create the domed form. Each length of wood measures 42cm x 4.5cm x 1.2cm. The overall height was 7 metres. The work was destroyed as part of a public performance at the end of the exhibition. The whole creative process was documented on video and became part of a DVD package produce by Artcourt Gallery. interior view
