Eucalyptus, Oak, dimensions variable, 2013
A series of five installations were presented as part of a group exhibition, In Between, which took place within the castle and grounds at Gaasbeek. The venue for these installations was the greenhouse within the castle garden. The garden itself contains the world's largest collection of fruit grafting techniques and each installation presented within the greenhouse was inspired by these variations.
Each installation consisted of a central column on top of which were balanced two oak beams. These beams acted as the platform base from which each installation grew and developed. Eight installations were realised in total with three collapsing within a few days of having been completed.
The exhibition was curated by Joris Capenberghs. Further information on the exhibition can be viewed here
