Art @ Tsuchizawa, Hanamaki, Japan. 10th October - 10th November 2014.
Untitled # 179, Cedar, Oak, Pine, steel, concrete.
Temporary outdoor installation created in response to the location of the Tannaisan Jinja, a shinto shrine complex located in the foothills above the town of Tsuchizawa. The installation is an accessable pavillion, with seating and an open view to the sky, offering visitors an augmented experience of the shine environment.
The installation consists of 3300 uniform lengths of wood screwed togehter and fixed to concrete base points. The work is one of fifty artists projects being exhibited during Art @ Tsuchizawa.
This project was supported by the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.
