Aeneas Wilder: exhibitions Musee de Gajac back«

Untitled # 119

Poplar, Dimensions Variable, 2006

The first time to build a structure between two walls, using lengths of wood, rather than with polystyrene, as done in previous works. The structure spanned a distance of 5.6 metres and weighed approximately 180kgs. It is basically a cylindrical membrane in tension. This work survived for only 2 hours. This is the last photo, during the final stages of unbinding each of the lengths of wood. This work was accompanied by floor plan drawings for potential future installations, video documentation of previous works, and the hand painted Universal Flag (Drapeau Universal) created in Thailand.
