A solo exhibition of outdoor work set within the gardens of the chateau. The exhibition consisted of three large scale outdoor installations: A 11.4 metrestacked wooden sphere; a 12 metre high tower and chair; a 42 metre diameter meadow flower labyrinth. The exhibition also included a series of five cubic units and four video documentary works made over a 12 month period in Japan.
Each of the five cubic units contained an artwork or artifact owned by the artist and made by a person who the artist knew personally and who has subsequently died. These people were: Emma Herman Smith, Paul Panhuysen, Mitsuyo Oikawa, Johan Meijerink, Fumi Obara.
The video works presented in the exhibition were:
Ochiai Shishiodori: a 30 minute documentation of the pre-harvest dance performed by the Ochiai Shishiodori on the 19th September 2015
12 months: A sequence of 2 second clips documenting the passage of time, seasons and daily life in the Ochiai community.
Hadaka Maeri: Documentation of a 1st January Shinto Ritual that takes place within the Narushima community in Iwate, Northern Japan
Preparation of the body for cremation: Documentation of an undertakers work in preparing a body before cremation.
